Blosxom “is a lightweight yet feature-packed weblog application designed from the ground up with simplicity, usability, and interoperability in mind.

Blosxom is simple, straightforward, minimalist Perl affording even the dabbler an opportunity for experimentation and customization.

Blosxom was originally written by Rael Dornfest, who in September 2005 handed over its maintenance and evolution to other developers. The new group set up a Sourceforge Project and shortly after, in December 2005, they were able to release their first bugfix version, Blosxom 2.0.1.

LifeType 1.1 available

LifeType 1.1 has just been released and is available for download from SourceForge.net.

The new features and general improvements include:

* a disk based data cache;
* reduction (in half) of memory usage;
* articles, categories, links, resources, users are now searchable;
* API cleanup and improvement;
* replaced HTMLArea visual editor with TinyMCE;
* and much more.

eZ publish 3.8.4

The releases of eZ publish 3.8.4 (with 3.7.9 and 3.6.11) fix security issues of high severity.

In general, site owners who cannot trust their editors should upgrade immediately. All users of the shop functionality of eZ publish are urged to upgrade to the latest versions.

Mambo 4.5.4 SP2

Team Mambo has released Security Patch 2 for Mambo version 4.5.4.

This patch fixes a number of security vulnerabilities and provides some additional hardening of the application. It is recommended that everyone apply this patch as soon as possible.

eZ publish “provides one platform for web publishing, e-commerce, intranets/extranets, document management, blogs, photo galleries, forums, portals and more.

With its framework architecture, it is both an out-of-the-box solution and a platform that can be extended and enhanced to suit your specific requirements.

eZ publish is written in PHP and requires MySQL or PostgreSQL as a DBMS. The eZ publish software has a dual license model: you can choose between the eZ publish Professional License and the GNU GPL Free Open Source license.

Typo3

Typo3 is “a small to midsize enterprise-class Content Management Framework offering the best of both worlds: out-of-the-box operation with a complete set of standard modules and a clean and sturdy high-performance architecture accomodating virtually every kind of custom solution or extension.

Typo3’s development was started from scratch by Kasper Skårhøj in 1997, and the first production quality version (Typo3 version 3.0) was released on May 24, 2002. A detailed history of the project is available on Typo3 web site.

Typo3 is based on PHP and MySQL, but can support other database systems as well. Typo3 is Open Source Software, and is released under the GNU GPL (General Public License).
