RunCms (formerly E-Xoops) is a content management system based on Xoops version 1. E-Xoops was born in 2003; when Xoops decided to rewrite its core moving to version 2, E-Xoops chose to keep the old core and build upon it.

In May 2004 E-Xoops changed its name to RunCms to remark its separate evolution from Xoops. RunCms is a PHP and MySQL application, and is released under the GNU GPL (General Public License).

Xaraya was born in the summer of 2002 as a fork of PostNuke, but the first public beta was made available in April 2003. After a number of 0.9.x releases, Xaraya 1.0 was released in November 2005.

Xaraya is a web application framework, written in PHP, designed to bring the user a set of tools to build web applications. Out of the box, Xaraya is a Content Management System built on top of the Xaraya framework. While many people use Xaraya as it is, there are many other things they can do with the framework.

On the developer side, Xaraya offers the core framework, with its module APIs, hooks, custom tags, dynamic data, event and authentication plugins. On the web designer side, Xaraya offers the Block Layout templating engine; combined, these two aspects provide the tools to build the look and functionality the user needs.

Xaraya requires PHP 4.1.2 or higher (runs also on PHP 5), and a database (MySQL, PostgreSQL or SQLite). Xaraya is distributed under the GNU General Public License Version 2.

Exponent 0.96.5

November 1st, 2006 No comments

The Exponent Development Team is pleased to announce the final release for 0.96.5.

This version includes various enhancements to the system, the largest being the initial implementation of the system-level language subsystem. This implementation isolates all system-level strings (e.g.: error messages, administrative wording, etc) into a language pack, which allows site owners to translate their core site into different languages.

Other changes in this release include performance enhancements and many security fixes.

For additional details, please read the release notes on SourceForge.
