MDPro 1.0.80 (MDLite) released

March 29th, 2007 No comments

After a lot of work and a lot of time, finally MDLite, or MDPro 1.080, is ready. “You should also be aware that development and support for MDPro 1.076 or previous version has stopped, as we will turn our full attention to preparing MDPro 1.085, evolution from this version with some suprises we plan to release soon, and MDPro 1.1 with new core.

MDLite represents a transitional development in the move toward producing MD 1.1 with a new core. The focus is on creating a small core to allow users to install only the modules, blocks and addons they need.

For additional information, please read the MDLite release announcement.

sNews is “a simple, basic, customizable CMS tool suitable for developers with beginner-to-advanced PHP skills. It is also useful to have a good working knowledge of how to work with, set up and manage MySQL databases. sNews is not geared towards the end-user who knows little or nothing about building and developing PHP-MySQL based websites.

The sNews platform was born in late 2005, and has only one ‘engine’ file and one ‘template’ file, to keep it as simple as possible. On the other hand, sNews does not have an automatic installer or a WYSIWYG browser based interface, so it needs a little extra effort on the user part while installing the application or editing content.

sNews requires PHP, MySQL and Apache with mod_rewrite, and is freely available under a Creative Commons License.

Due to a performance issue reported by Pete Finnigan in the bug forums, an updated version of GreyMatter 1.7.2 has been made available.

The version affected by this bug is version 1.7.2, and blogs with many entries are the most affected. An unwanted delay of 45 seconds for each page rebuild generates timeouts when rebuilding files.

GreyMatter is the release fixing this issue. For additional information and for upgrading instructions, please see the release announcement.

b2evolution 1.9.3 released

March 12th, 2007 No comments

b2evolution version 1.9.3 has been released. The improvements in this version include:

* Fixed “basic antispam de-activates itself”.
* Fixed inclusion of sub-categories in item list (e.g. ?cat=1).
* Fixed handling of formats in pre-rendering content. You should delete the cache from the “Tools” menu after upgrading.
* Some more minor fixes.

This is not a critical release. If you haven’t noticed any bug in 1.9.2 yet, you probably don’t need to upgrade. However, upgrading from 1.9.2 to 1.9.3 is just a matter of replacing a couple of files.

For additional details, please refer to the release announcement.
