Xoops Cube Legacy 2.1.0

April 30th, 2007 No comments

[Xoops Cube]

Xoops Cube Legacy 2.1.0 final has been released.

Started as a fork from Xoops in May 2005. Xoops Cube is the new application core, while Legacy is a set of modules on top of Xoops Cube to emulate Xoops 2.0.10.

The Xoops Cube core has been written from scratch, and is distributed under the BSD license. The Legacy modules, on the other side, are based on Xoops and are covered by the GNU GPL license.

Xoops Cube Legacy is largely compatible with Xoops 2.0.10 and with the former Xoops 2.0.16 JP; module compatibility reports are available on the Xoops Cube site to help users who are upgrading.

For additional information and upgrading details, please refer to the release announcement.

Xoops Cube

[Xoops Cube]

Xoops Cube is a fork of Xoops, started by the former Xoops Japan team, who felt that security and multi-byte character support were not adequately addressed by the Xoops management team.

Xoops Cube, like Xoops, is a PHP and MySQL application, released under the GNU GPL (General Public License).

The Xoops Cube fork was announced by Onokazu in May 2005. The Xoops Cube team maintained Xoops 2.0.x JP series, a temporary branch for Japanese users, while developing Xoops Cube (the new application core) and Legacy (a set of modules on top of Xoops Cube to emulate Xoops 2.0.10).

Xoops Cube Legacy 2.1.0 final was released on April 30, 2007.
