In the Most linked CMS site and the Most visited CMS site stats I am using the term “CMS site” without a definition. Here I’ll try to explain what I mean and how I select a CMS site when more than one is available.

Often there are many sites for a given CMS, e.g. the official site, plus maybe a support site, a news site and so on. Since I am using the CMS site to count its incoming links, and the number of visits it receives, I’ll try to select the most linked and the most visited site as the “CMS site”. More accurately, that site could be called the “reference site” for the CMS it covers.

For these reasons, not always the official website is chosen as the reference site, or the “CMS site”, for a given CMS. The site chosen as reference is always mentioned in the Links section of all posts related to that CMS.
