SPIP 1.9.1

A new version of SPIP has been released. SPIP 1.9.1:

* offers improvements in the administration area, using AJAX;
* introduces models, mini-templates that can be integrated easily in a normal template;
* introduces new tags and new filters;
* corrects a number of bugs.

PostNuke 0.8 Milestone 2

The PostNuke development team are glad to announce the release of PostNuke 0.8 Milestone 2.

This release represents a further leap forward of the PostNuke codebase and brings us ever closer to a first RC.

The categories code is now finished, and the database frozen to all changes except those required for Oracle and PostgreSQL compatibility. The theme standards are also finalized, and it is now safe to begin developing themes for the 0.8x series of PostNuke using the new theme engine.

Movable Type 3.33

[Movable Type]

Movable Type 3.33 fixes a number of vulnerabilities affecting all previous versions of the platform.

This is a mandatory update due to the severity of the combined vulnerabilities.

We will be disclosing full details of the vulnerabilities on our Professional Network blog in a couple of days allowing you to update in the meantime without incurring unnecessary risk.

[CMS Made Simple]

September 10, 2006 – CMS Made Simple version 1.0 has been released.

Basically, “CMSMS 1.0 is CMSMS 0.13 with the addition of a workflow system, a new search module, a better looking installer and a ton of bug fixes.” More features are expected in version 1.1.

Update: September 12, 2006 – CMSMS version 1.0.1 has been released to fix some issues with the installer and a few other bugs (see the release announcement).

Update: September 20, 2006 – CMSMS version 1.0.2 is available. This version fixes various bugs. See the release announcement and the changelog for details.

b2evolution version 1.8.2 has been released. This is the first release labeled as “final/stable” since version 0.9.2.

PHP-Nuke 8.0 released

[PHP-Nuke]

PHP-Nuke 8.0 is now released.

This version includes a new anti-flood system, several cosmetic changes, a new web based installer, improvements on advertising system, downloads and web links modules, Forums and all BBtoNuke modules are now separated from the core system, improved the News module and many bugs fixes.

Additionally PHP-Nuke version 7.9 has been released for free to the public on the downloads section.

Mambo version 4.6

Mambo announced today the release of version 4.6. “This is the first major release in almost two years and provides users a leaner, faster Mambo with greatly improved scalability and stability.

Version 4.6 is being released in two configurations: 4.6 Complete includes the core system as well as an assortment of the most popular extensions and templates, while 4.6 Lite is a minimalist distro comprised of only the core files.

What’s new in version 4.6? Among the new features:

* More templates, available in 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768, fully CSS-driven.

* A single internationalization mechanism that makes it easier for translators to produce local language packs.

* A new integrated installer for plugins (components, modules, etc). Users will see a single installer that is able to install any kind of plugin.

* A better WYSIWYG content editor, MOStlyCE, fast and with a number of new functions.

Geeklog 1.4.1 beta 1

[Geeklog]

A first beta release of Geeklog 1.4.1 is now available for download. “After the various security issues we had this year, we concentrated on code reviews and bugfixes for this release, but there are also some new features.” These new features are:

* Support for Microsoft SQL Server.

* Calendar plugin. Moving the events and the calendar to their own plugin makes Geeklog more modular.

* Multi-language support. It’s now possible to build multilingual Geeklog sites where not only the navigation but also the content changes when you switch languages.

* Various other changes, e.g. better spam protection.

Typo3 4.0.2

[Typo3]

Typo3 version 4.0.2 has been made available to fix a medium severity Cross-Site-Scripting (XSS) problem discovered in the Indexed Search component.

The search word was not escaped correctly so a prepared URL (e.g. referenced in an email) could potentially contain some unwanted JavaScript code.
